1. Communications Specialist (Full-Time Summer Student |Youth Contract)

Job Description
A creative digital content producer with a strong writing background, the successful candidate will assist Dancing Damsels with its communications efforts and play a key role in promoting Toronto International Dance Festival 2021.
A solid background in communications and/or journalism and /or writing are a must. A passion for arts especially dance is an advantage. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to problem solve, a positive attitude and a willingness to take initiative are definite assets.
Working in a fast-paced environment, the Communications Assistant will contribute to Toronto International Dance Festival and report to the Communications Manager of TIDF or Managing Director.
Due to COVID-19, all the work will take place only online.
Responsibilities
Create digital content for the Dancing Damsels /TIDF websites and social channels, including written news, blurbs and feature stories, artists bios, graphics and videos;Assist in the maintenance of the website and social media channels;Produce and distribute monthly e-newsletter; create contents for the TIDF Souvenir,Track and compile Dance studios / performers statistics; Daily media monitoring and maintenance of media contact lists;Assist in the day-to-day operations of the communications and marketing department and provide specific administrative assistance as required.
Qualifications
A passion for events and experience working in a event management;Post-secondary education or experience in communications, journalism, or a related field;Excellent written and verbal communication skills;Knowledge of website maintenance and social media management;Photography, videography and/or graphic design experience is an asset;Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Premiere and other Creative Cloud programs is an asset;
Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, time management and problem solving skills;Ability to take direction and multi-task in a fast-paced environment;Team player with ability to work independently and take initiative;Proficiency with computers, technology and the internet required;
Additional Responsibilities
The Communication Assistant shall also undertake other tasks, activities and responsibilities as he/she deems to be appropriate to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, and as agreed to by the Communications Manager and Managing Director.
All employees must be aware that as an employee of Dancing Damsels, he/she is an ambassador of the association to the public, and multicultural communities and must represent the association in a professional and appropriate manner at all times.
Terms of Contract
Full-time 9 weeks contract position (May to August 2021);Travel may be required. This position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs, which creates paid work positions for youth. To be eligible applicants must meet the following requirements:

2. Job Title: Marketing Specialist - Advertising (Full-Time Summer Student |Youth Contract)

Dancing Damsels, is looking for a student who will work as an Marketing Specialist during the summer period as we conduct our summer activities and particularly Toronto International Dance Festival. We are looking for a cheerful and professional individual who will be responsible for working as a team in planning, executing and marketing various events that will be held during the summer. Successful candidate is someone with multitasking abilities to handle different project at simultaneously, and within time sensitive deadlines.
You must be between the ages of 15-30 and have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year, with intent to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.
We are currently recruiting Marketing Specialist to work in the Events department of Dancing Damsels team, assisting with duties prior to the events and on live online event days -Canada Day, Dance Work Shops, Toronto International Dance Festival (outdoor)
The vacancy is the perfect opportunity for an enthusiastic and confident individual who wishes to expand upon their knowledge across a wide range of skills and expertise. The individual will become involved within all aspects of events management, gaining invaluable experience from industry professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Be on hand to support the Event Manager; • Assist in the coordination of the build and de-rig of events; • Support the Marketing team with social all media ;• Assist with gathering data during the event; • Assist with Sponsors and Performers liaison; • Ensuring maximum online views for the online events in all social media platforms; • Creation and marketing of promotional materials prior and throughout the events, • Book online appointments, meeting Sponsors for the event. Other ad hoc duties as and when required by the Event Manager
Requirements:
• Confident communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal); • Previous experience of volunteering in Events or a similar area of work
• Ability to think proactively and be calm in sometimes hectic situations; • Good administrative and IT skills (including Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel)
• Creativity and ability to work on own initiative and meet deadlines; • Interested in social media;• Excellent team player; • Proficient in working in a fast paced environment; • A pro-active and can-do attitude, even when working under pressure. Must have excellent customer service and good communications skills. Good interpersonal skills to work with co-workers and clients.Time management skills and self-start ability. Ability to multitask with good organizational skills -Previous experience working in similar position is an asset.
Desirable:
• Experienced in assisting with the planning and organization of events
• Capable at engaging with and communicating to a variety audiences through social media
• An understanding of commercialization, marketing, fundraising and sponsorship and Ability to work independently

3. Job Title: Event Coordinator (Full-Time Summer Student |Youth Contract)

Dancing Damsels, is looking for a student | youth who will work as an Event Coordinator during summer period as we conduct our summer activities - Canada Day Celebrations; Dance Work Shops; and Toronto International Dance Festival.
You must be between the ages of 15-30 and have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year, with intent to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year. Assisting with preparation and execution of events; Documentation ; Social Media prep and posts; Maintain calendar of events and schedule are the major roles of the Event Coordinator .
Event Coordinator will work under direction of the Senior Programs Coordinator who will prepare weekly work schedule and targets. This is a fast-paced position, as such it requires someone who is able to handle multiple priorities at one go. Summer time is a busiest time as they are many events being organized and therefore lots of handling of calls, inquiries etc. We need someone with a zeal for continuous learning as we are prepared to train on many aspects within the organization to the right person. Special consideration will be given to applicants with disabilities and woman who are seeking careers in office admin and/or events management.

- Must have excellent customer service skills, phone manners and command for English language.
